When I woke up this morning I got ready, because we would go and have some breakfast at Flappy Jack's Pancake House. When we arrived at the restaurant, there was already a line with more than 50 people. As a result, we had to wait for almost an hour to get in. Nevertheless, my pancake with strawberries and banana still tasted really good, The plan afterwards was to go to Olvera Street in LA, but something happened with Evelyn's son so she had to go to the hospital. In the meantime Kevin and I watched several horror movies, which was a lot of fun! When Evelyn came back she did our make up and hair for the Day of the Dead. The only thing was, is that Evelyn came back a lot later than imagined, so we had to get ready really quick to make it in time at the festival. We brought the make up and the hair things with us in the car and when we arrived at the festival at 6:59 pm (closing at 7:00pm) we all looked great. Now I will first explain you what the Day of the Dead is. On the Day of the Dead people, mostly Hispanic, honour the dead ones. They make altars and other rituals, such as dancing to memorize the dead. They also dress themselves in a special way and put on make up on their face, which makes their face look like a skeleton. So you should try to imagine yourself walking there. You walk in a cemetery together with thousands of frightening and bizar looking people. When you look around you see all kinds of altars, stalls, performances and headstones. I think you could imagine now what an amazing expierence this was for me. I really enjoyed this day.
